According to marriage certificate her father was Stephen Breese, Gentleman of Great Yarmouth (note: at time of 1851 census her father, a retired farmer, was meeting his two sons who were living at Market Place Great Yarmouth).
Her father is also described as a farmer in the 1841 census but it seems clear that, after his retirement from the hard work as a farmer, Stephen Breese continued to run the drapers shop and continued in the same trade as did two of his sons and two of his daughters. The evidence of the age and the lack of any other candidate sharing exactly the same family (he is shown as a farmer with the same spouse and children in terms of name and age) is strong:
