CAERPHILLY. PWLLYPANT QUARRY.—The men who are residing in the barracks at these works were entertained last week with a capital dinner. Mr. Monfries presided. After the cloth was removed, the health of the Mar- quis of Bute was proposed and drunk amidst great cheering and the healths of Mr. McConnochie and Mr. Monfries, the manager of the works, were also warmly received. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in various amusements. was spent in various amusements. ANNUAL SUPPER.—The annual supper took place on Friday evening at the Castle Hotel, and a re- spectable company sat down to partake of it. The viands were everything that could be desired, and did credit to Host Baker. The cloth being removed, Mr. Thomas Reynolds was voted to the chair, and Mr. Edward Elliott to the vice-chair. The usual loyal toasts were drunk, and were followed by others. Some capital songs were sung by Messrs. William Edwards, S. Baker, Thouias Goodfellow, S. Cempton; and recitations were given by Mr. Forester and Mr. T. Phillips. A very pleasant evening was spent by the company.
