Sketches of Holland, described in a series of letters in rhyme addressed to the writer's mother and others, and interspersed with many engravings of Dutch views. Written at the age of sixteen/seventeen during his stay at a French boarding school in Noordwijk by the Rev. John Skinner (1772-1839), rector of Camerton (Somerset). Letters no. 3, 5 and 6 are available here in digital form. In these letters Skinner describes amongst others the Dutch language and the Dutch custom of ice skating.
